Establishment and Facilities
Thandalam is located in Periya Palayam block, Tiruvallur District, Tamil Nadu. The village lacked primary healthcare until a modest clinic opened in 2019, constructed with a CSR grant from Canara Bank.
Officially inaugurated on July 11, 2021 by Tamil Nadu's governor, the Sankara Rural Medical Center provides affordable healthcare to an underserved community. A Memorandum of Understanding with Chettinad Hospitals enables patient transfers for advanced care at subsidized or free rates. Consultation fee is 10 rupees; medications are provided at reduced prices.
